With Halloween in just a few days, we’re all fully in the swing of spooky season. At home we’ve planned our costumes, and put out decorations. At work, we’re having fun brainstorming new seasonal flavors and spooky treats in the lab. One that we had the most fun with was playing around with a classic Halloween favorite – Dirt and Worms. If you’ve never tried it before, it’s simple to make but eerily delicious.
Ingredients 
Chocolate pudding (to make it easier, just use a box mix, such as Jell-O chocolate pudding)
Gummy Worms
Oreo cookies, crushed
Cool whip or Marshmallow Fluff
Instructions
Make the pudding to the box’s directions. For mine, I just added 3 cups of milk to the Jell-O box mix.
Whip in some cool whip or marshmallow fluff, to add extra texture and airiness to the pudding.
Start by doling out a decent sized serving of chocolate pudding into cups.
Top first with crushed Oreos, followed by as many gummy worms as you’d like.
And that’s it! A simple and quick, but delicious treat that’ll quickly become a Halloween staple.
Flavor Variations
One of the most enjoyable parts of working with the lab is creating new applications. These help us better showcase our flavors at shows, and offer some new ideas to our customers. It also helps us to better understand our flavors, and how they may come across in various applications. We may even discover new ways to modify our flavors to make them more unique, or completely different.
So, we of course had to create our own variations of this recipe with our flavors. Some flavors can be used to create something completely new and unique, while others can be used to simply enhance your flavor (like a natural vanilla or chocolate flavor):
